"Felt safe enough during my trips"
I’ve used Boingo a handful of times over the last few months while traveling, mostly in airports and once during a hotel stay. Each time, the login process felt secure, and I never noticed anything sketchy going on with privacy or my connection. The speeds were decent for checking email, browsing, and getting a little work done. I’m taking off one star because the initial setup took longer than I expected the first time, but after that it was mostly fine

I used Boingo Wireless and the payment part was straightforward. They had the card option I needed, and it went through quickly without any hassle. I do wish there were a few more options, like PayPal in some locations, if that makes sense. But overall, it worked fine for me.

I tried the Boingo free trial at the airport, this little Wi-Fi circus was just annoying. Signing up took way longer than it should have, the connection kept cutting out, and even basic pages loaded painfully slow. Then I had to poke around to make sure the so-called free trial wouldn’t turn into a surprise charge later. Maybe it works fine for some people, but for me it felt like a hassle, not a deal.

"Easy airport login"
Had to use Boingo Wireless at the airport. Login was simple. Maybe a minute, then I was online. Speed wasn’t perfect after that. But signing in? No hassle at all.

It worked fine most of the time, but the speed would drop bad at night. For checking email or browsing a bit, it was good enough, but streaming and video calls could get frustrating real quick. Not terrible, just not as reliable as I was hoping tbh.

It works most of the time, so I can’t really call it bad. But the app does feel slower than it should, and some of the menus are more confusing than they need to be. Common sense says things like this should be easy to find and quick to use. It’s not terrible, it just needs some cleanup...

My phone connected without any issues, which was nice. The laptop, though, was annoying to set up and took more effort than I expected. Overall it’s decent once it’s working, but the setup process definitely got on my nerves.

I only needed Wi-Fi for a short trip, but Boingo Wireless made it surprisingly annoying to change or pause my plan. The setup and billing felt like more hassle than it needed to be, lol. Overall, the plans just seem really inflexible and not great for people whose needs change.

"Signal keeps dropping on me"
I’ve been dealing with this for the past few weeks, and it’s getting frustrating. At first I thought it was just a one-time issue, but now the signal drops almost every time I try to use it. Yesterday it happened again right in the middle of what I was doing, and by that point I was fed up. I really hope this gets fixed soon because it’s becoming hard to rely on...

"Outage updates need work"
Boingo works fine most days. But when there was an outage, the communication was not great. I had to ask around and check things myself to figure out what was happening.
They did fix it later. So it was not a total mess. Still, a quick email or status update would have helped a lot. I would give it 3 stars.

"Canceling was surprisingly simple"
I had to cancel my Boingo plan, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I found the cancel option quickly, didn’t have to click through a bunch of annoying extra screens, and the confirmation email showed up almost right away. Little stuff like that makes a difference, so I was happy with the process.

"Support doesn’t really seem to get back to you"
I’ve tried reaching out to Boingo support a few times, it kind of feels like there isn’t anyone actually handling things. Replies take a really long time, and when I do hear back, they don’t usually help much. I feel like I just kept getting passed from one person to another without a clear answer. It’s frustrating when you’re paying for internet and can’t seem to get basic support.

Boingo.com isn’t exactly the cheapest option out there, but for me it’s been decent value. I travel a fair bit, and my coworker actually put me onto it after using it during a bunch of airport layovers. Setup was straightforward, and so far I feel like the monthly cost is mostly worth it for the convenience

"Setup took longer than it should have"
Just a heads up for anyone trying to install Boingo: give yourself some extra time. My setup didn’t go as smoothly as I expected because the instructions didn’t really match what I was seeing on my screen. I ended up restarting a few times before things finally clicked. Support did help, but the responses were a bit slow, so don’t count on it being an instant fix. It’s working now, but the install process could be a lot clearer.

I noticed my bill was wrong , so I reached out to support thinking it would be a quick fix . Instead , they didn’t really do anything to help , and I was left dealing with the same issue . Frustrating experience overall
